While pet sitting for a friend last Saturday, I couldn't help but take some pics of her foster kittens. She has 5 kittens and two dogs! The kittens are available for adoption, and are the sweetest little things. I had some trouble having to split my time between cuddling with the dogs, and letting 5 babycats purr and snuggle me. It made up for watching Stephan Bonnar get crushed by a knee to the solar plexus and a quick loss to Silva at UFC 153.
Also, I snapped some pictures of random things, including an anatomical shepherd and the trophy/terrarium I made her! It's molded over and very Halloweeny.
Happy Galentine's Day! I've been sick for about a week now, and was getting stir-crazy yesterday. K and I went to Raptor Trust, and then got a pina colada for my tropical remedy. The pina colada sucked, but I got to hear my favorite Raven mimic camera sounds! And K got to enjoy her saw-whet owls in person, which are maybe the cutest birds ever.
Raptor Trust is a great place. Anytime you find a broken winged Grackel (as we seemed to find many this past summer) or injured bird in NJ, you can pretty much count on these people to take care of it.
WARNING: taking pictures is pretty hard there. There's a mesh net inside every enclosure so you are shooting through a few layers of netting and chain-link fence. It is way better to go and just enjoy seeing a huge Bald Eagle in person. I tend to photograph the mice because they are beautiful in a really macabre way. Some of these pics are gross/graphic of the mice. Prob NSFW.
A vulture grabbed a mouse and brought it to K. It was showing her how to eat it! It was so cool at first, because the vulture was literally showing off the inside of the mouse, and how to eat it. It was like, "Human, this is how it's done!" But then the vegan in me got really grossed out and started gagging during this bizarre bird show-and-tell.
Stay updated with some of my latest images, whether they're from photo shoots or unfinished art projects!
