Venus is the Roman Goddess of love, beauty, desire, fertility, prosperity and victory. "Venus Obsequens" was the first cult of Venus, and was the first attested Roman epithet. It means "Indugent Venus" was used in dedication of her first temple.
My drawing celebrates the Bouguereau painting, modeled by the Princess of Ligne, Marie Georgine. I redrew her in my style and carved her out of paper. She is on a teal and orange canvas I painted and pairs beautifully with the similar size and colored piece Peach Love.
